Here are some general jewellery care tips that I hope you will find useful

Silver, Brass and Copper Jewellery are all prone to developing a patina (tarnishing) over time. This is a natural process and some people prefer the antiqued and weathered look. However there are some simple ways to restore the bright and shiny surface of your metals:

For silver jewellery I would simply recommend using a silver jewellery cleaning cloth or dip. If you have some bicarbonate of soda and tin foil at home, the link below shows a brilliant way of cleaning silver

For brass you can use a metal polishing cloth or some brasso wadding. For home hacks try using a cotton cloth/cotton wool pad dipped in lemon juice or tomato ketchup and buff - both of these methods work brilliantly!

General care tips:

To keep your jewellery looking its best:

Always remove jewellery when bathing, showering, sleeping and cleaning.

Avoid contact with perfumes, lotions, sprays and household cleaning products.

Store in a dry environment (a grip seal bag is the perfect).

How do I care for my sea glass jewellery?

Your sea glass jewellery is made from .925 sterling silver which can be prone to tarnishing (dulling). Simple steps to keep your jewellery looking its best are to avoid contact with salt water, swimming pools and household chemicals/cleaning products, perfumes and creams.

I always recommend you remove your sea glass jewellery before bathing and showering, or taking part in sporting activities.

Important:

With all of my sea glass jewellery that uses closed bezel settings, it is very important that you follow the above guidelines. Your sea glass when bezel set is generally airtight but if salt or chemicals do manage to get inside the bezel and underneath the sea glass, it can cause black tarnish underneath the sea glass causing an undesired effect. Deep cleaning and resetting a bezel is a time-consuming and costly process that can be avoided if your jewellery is cared for properly.
